21st century has brought with itself many changes in various spheres of human existence.
The canvas ,which is our mind, has been painted over by so many “painters” that we, human beings, have become very complex creatures. We lead complex lives. Our minds are soaked into information (not necessarily useful), and we are constantly involved in some physical or mental activity. (Consciously or subconsciously). Let it be your job/career, family, relationships, personal development, you are constantly thinking about one thing or other.
In short, you are leading the circle of your routine/life.
But!
It’s a vicious circle.
Because of the fact that we are absorbed in leading our life, we are becoming more and more self centered. All we truly want is our well being. We want success, prosperity, happiness, fulfillment, adventure, what not!
This self absorbed behaviour is leading to a Moral Crisis. In simple terms, moral crisis refers to a situation where overstep all the bounds of what’s Moral. Moral values involve virtues which tend to create a more positive and harmonious society. We know these values taught to us in elementary school. Kindness, harmony, sacrifice, charity are some examples.
We are heading towards a GLOBAL MORAL CRISIS. The world is entering a no return point where people will be egocentric, less considerate, and reek of hatred and jealousy. Imagine what will happen if this happens on a huge scale?
Wars, terrorism.. humanity will blow itself up. People talk about climate change, resource crisis, population threat, but nobody talks about moral crisis because it does not pose an immediate threat to humanity.
It is restricted to individuals and small groups.
We need a moral revolution in the 21st century….
Will be continued in part 2.
